[DML] STICKING CLUTCH



Jimmy,

Thank you for your comments. The method you mention below is basically how we freed the clutch, but instead of lowering the car to the ground, the brake was applied while the clutch was engaged. I was surprised how tight the clutch was jammed. From now on, I will ensure that the car is driven more frequently.

What also could help is jacking up the rear end of the car. While in the air
(only a few inches) spin the tires up to about 20 or so and keep your foot on
the accelerator. Then lower the jack quickly. Keep your foot on the
accelerator until you hear the tires make contact with the ground. Then let
go. The ground will stop the tires, therefore stopping the engine
and....hopefully.....breaking the clutch disk away from whatever it is stuck
to. (Most likely the Flywheel) Not the most delicate way of doing it but it
works!
