[DML] Mystery plug and DMC for sale spotted

So, I'm underneath the rear end of the car doing some brake work, when I notice
an unplugged plug staring back at me. It's a white, 2 prong plug, hanging down
about 5 inches from the area of the distributor. I have a 5spd, is this for the
automatics? Or should this probably be plugged into something?

Also, anybody know what the connector in the left side of the transmission is
for? I didn't think there was any electric hardware involved in the manual
gearbox.

I spotted a DMC for sale at an import shop just west of Midland, Michigan. If
anybody is interested in more info, feel free to email me. It's VIN 5288, grey
interior, 5spd, lines in hood. Appears to be somewhat of a project car.
