Robert,
I am also working on the BTTF 2 model by Aoshima. The seats come in gray to start with, so I would leave them alone. I will check my instructions and see if it really calls for blue. From what I remember, my instructions are to paint the already gray seats...gray! That's a waste of paint.
I would just leave them. Keep me informed of your progress.
