[DML] Re: Oldsmobile 307 Engine in a D?

Turbocharged rotaries put out 255HP and the turbo MR2 engine put out 200 HP. The MR2 was even mid engine so it's possible that the swap would be slightly easier. Either one of these would be an ideal choice over a cast iron small block. Both of these engines also have an abundance of CARB legal parts so you can upgrade to even more power if you desire.

Why not try looking into the lightwieght 4 cylinder from misubishi
eclibse/eagle talon. these engines under their turbos would put out from
195HP in earlier cars to 210 in the newer cars powered by the 2.0 liter neon
engine. And as anyone knows these little pocket rockets were great for
modding out. Personally ive driven Talons modded to 270HP dyno tested. And
the best thing of all, these cars were produced by the thousands and theres
gonna be plenty of remanufactured engines available, or from a wrecked car.
This wouldnt make the D as fast as the mitsu, but id love to see a D with a
210HP four-banger smoke one of those oh-so ridiculous integras.
