No Prob, Jeremiah. I have some connections in the industry and just wanted
to relay what information i do have. for the record, i use and have only used
the Purflux filter. maybe someone on this list will buy the Fram filter, tear
it open, and compare it to the Purflux. that would be helpful.

Anyway, Fram consistently scores poorly on independant filter quality tests
that i have read on the net (take that with a grain of salt i suppose). Maybe
they are low quality, or maybe everyone else is over engineered, i don't know!
However, they have very high volume of filters sold and do have a complete
warranty on their filter - if you properly install it and the filter is found
to be the cause of engine damage or failure, they will pay for the engine
(after lab tests). I have no idea what they would do if you installed the wrong
filter that fit anyway and a guy behind the service desk at Bubba's Auto Parts
said that was the right one. for me, if there is ANY question at all, I would
run as far away as possible when it comes to something like an engine oil
filter - something that can make the difference between an engine that is running
properly and an engine with blown main bearings.

Andy
