I messed with that.

I had less than stellar results, and it wasn't for
lack of getting it hot. Maybe got it too hot.

My advice-- a light hammer and a punch. Hit those
rivets and give them a tighter connection. Or the
screw and nut method. That is secure, won't wiggle
loose again if you use locktite, and would probably be
less than $2 in parts.
