Steve,

Our striker kit includes a double threaded insert that increases striker
retention substantially over both the original and conventional "nutserts".
To answer your question the thread is 5mm.

size.  On my car, the lower engine cover striker (part
no. 100597) was completely missing, including the
threaded insert in the engine cover itself.  I'm
