[DML] Re: Bucking and Kicking



Does the car buck and kick when cold, under fuller throttle but not
partial throttle? If so, could well be a CPR issue (serves same
purpose on K Jetronic as a carburetor choke plate, albeit by different
means). You need a high pressure fuel gauge to diagnose the CPR by the
numbers, but a good seat of the pants test would be to let the car
idle until warm, then take the same test drive.

Glad you found the dead short. That's probably what killed your
battery (will do so in a matter of minutes). Fuse #1 controls all the
engine electricals, so it is kind of important. Check your fuse box
contacts -- a DeLo weakness. The short at your battery wouldn't have
blown any fuses.
