There are 11 vacuum hoses on the upper part of the engine. They are all in
my silicone vacuum hose kit. $49.95 Life Warranty.

Hmm....

3 hoses from thermal control valve. one goes to manifold vac, one to the
CPR,
one to the advance solenoid.

from the one hose that goes to the CPR from the TCV, it branches off into a
loop with the vacuum delay valve for a 20 sec wait until upper and lower
chamber equalization under full throttle. there should be a T intersection
with one
side going into the front of the CPR, and other going into the vacuum delay
valve (not mounted on anything, just hangs there), and then to the back of
the
CPR (back is rear of car, not back of engine).

1 short hose goes from the advance solenoid to the vacuum advance diaphragm
on the side of the distributor.

1 hose goes from the bundle coming out of the charcoal canister in the
driver's side pontoon and goes down into the lower half of the air meter
assembly
(long hose).

1 thick hose goes from the side of the oil cap to the cold start valve pipe
(PCV system)

1 thinner hose goes from the charcoal canister to the cold start valve pipe
also (EVAP purge system)

There are also a few hoses that go to the climate control system and the
brake booster, but I assume those weren't touched?  IIRC, they are not
visible
outside of the pontoon, so i doubt a mechanic would find them unless he
really
dug around.

Yes, I also thought it was a cool idea. However, if you take this into
production, will you be looking at creating a bottom for the car? There's
something very weird about two top halves of a car.

Probably because they had zero salvage value to the insurance
company. You saved them hauling away something that would have been
crushed into about $20 worth of scrap steel. Neither of those cars
has any value as spare parts.

Louie needs to convince the insurance company that the DMC is in the
same category.

I dont know about that, but the way it was done on
01860 was with a secondary fuel injection system, and
a MAP sensor.

When the boost comes on, so does the secondary
injection system.

Although that suplimental fuel injection system is not
"stock", if this was a turbo-kit engine I would
consider dumping the Bosh fuel injection system and
replacing it with a EFI system that is "turbo aware".
However, I want to keep the engine as stock as
possible so no one shoots me.  I get enuff complaints
that I even drive the car!

My DeLorean has the original NCTs and is long overdue for some new tires. I've called several Goodyear dealers in the San Francisco Bay area and none seem to have them. Most claim that the tire line has been discontinued, even though the Goodyear website still has them listed. Further research reveals that the website lists the 235/60 15 but not the 195/60 14.

Anyone know where I can find a complete set of these tires before they are completely gone?

Thanks!

Your story about sniffles and his posse reminded me about my first show in
Half Moon Bay, Pacific Coast Dream Machines in 1997.

We were set up and had a large number of people stop by and ask a lot of
questions.  A couple of kids came by with cameras taking pictures.  I asked
them if they wanted to sit in the car and I would take there picture.  Of
course they wanted to.  A little later a couple of girls and a guy, I guess
they were punk rockers, spiked hair, leather with studs and heavy black
boots came buy and wanted to sit in the car.  I told them no.  They
challenged me and I said that with there boots and the studs on there
clothes I was not going to let them scuff up the seats and carpets.  They
got loud and obnoxious, but I stood my ground.  They would not leave and I
was getting a little nervous about the way things were headed.  Then several
bikers, Harley riders, rough beards, showed up.  I figured well how much
worse can this get.  This mean looking biker came up to me and asked if
these baby punks were giving me a bad time.  The punks looked at the biker
and then looked at me and turned around and left.  I thanked the Bikers and
they left.  You never know when or where a friend will show up.

I have noticed when I am driving and I am near a biker, they always give me
a thumbs up.  I guess us D owners are rebels too.

I had a really interesting experience a while back. Bill Robertson and
myself were coming back from the SEDOC meet, and Bill's DeLorean decided to
rupture a coolant hose in west Charlotte at about 10pm. For those who don't
know, west Charlotte is a tad shady to say the least.

Snipped by Scott

He actually opened up the door at one point and plopped down into the seat.
I was just amazed... I'd never seen anyone act like this in my entire life.
I just didn't know how to react. I probably would have reacted a lot more
negatively had I not been seriously outnumbered by his very large
counterparts (I'm not tiny either... I'm about 6'3" tall). I don't think
Bill ever heard a single word of the event. Well, Sniffles finally got bored
with the car, and got peeved and told his buddies that he didn't want the
thing anyways, and that "let's go get some sniffles and go to tha club," and
they hopped in their car and sped off. Anyhow... I've had all sorts of crazy
people come up and say the most rediculous things to me when driving a
DeLorean... but this event takes the cake of the craziest encounter... lol.

In what order do the fuel lines attach to the fuel distributor especially the three large ones on the right side.  Am a little confused on which hole on the side of the fuel distributor that the f.v attach's to.   A which is the feed line and the return line and where do they go?  Toward the back of the f.d ( toward front of car) or the other way around can't remember.  I know two go together but which two and again which hole and where does the third large hose go???   By the way all the smaller fuel hoses I remember and drew those out.     THANKS.

If you can't find them locally try tirerack.com. The prices are good
but you will have to pay shipping and then get them mounted and
balanced. I was going to go that way but after figuring what most
shops in my area wanted for the mounting and balancing and the
shipping it came out about the same to get them locally (the Michelins
that is). Go to the Goodyear website and try to find a large stocking
dealer in your area. The Michelins are a little more but IMHO they are
worth it. I know this won't mean much because I never drove a Delorean
on the new Goodyear's, only on the old NCT's. I have used Michelins on
my other cars and I only have good things to say about Michelin. They
ride well and wear well. I have heard bad things about Goodyear, not
on this particular tire. In any case you will be much happier with new
tires over the old NCT's.

Nope, I had that diagram and used it greatly but still confused on the three large fuel hoses to the distributor (seemed kind of backwards to me) and where they go as far as port #8, #9, #11 I think?
