Subject: Show in Pasadena Maryland
This is just a reminder about the British car show this Saturday,
July 26 at Downs Park in Pasadena Maryland (Just north of Annapolis).
There are two DeLoreans that are currently planning to attend.
As far as I know, this will be the first appearance of a DeLorean
at this show. It will be right on the water, so it should make

All good points.
I made some phone calls and was informed that when DMC Houston bought
everything from KAPAC, that also included the copyright to the
manuals.
The original DMC had never paid the publisher, so the manuals weren't
released until -after- the company folded! When KAPAC bought
everything from DMC, they paid the publisher and the manuals were
released to them.
I have obtained permission from Houston to use sketches and quotes in
a not-for-profit article. I've written the rough draft, but haven't
inserted any visual aids yet. I'm having some people "in the know"
proof read it for me.

Good book? Yes it is. Highly priced? You bet! So from my standpoint
as a casual collector, that makes me quite happy. I've always wanted
to own a copy myself, but the price has always been too high for me
to justify. And of course, I'm looking forward to seeing the
aforementioned "new" chapter the tells more of the man, the company,
and of course the car.
Now then, there is also another added bonus to all of this.
Hopefully, the book starts turning up in stores, and that'll really
help put our cars into a positive light. Currently, there are not
really any books with positive info about the DMC-12 available for
sale, if any info at all last time I checked. So if suddenly, a brand-
new book appears on the shelf that contains more than a footnote
about the DeLorean appears, and shows engineering, and "action shots"
inside when people start to thub thru it, I'd most definately say
that's going to grab their attention, if not inspire them to learn
more about the car/want one.

Mess with a good read? What??!
The book ends with John DeLorean in jail and the
factory closed! Anyone reading it today may think
that's where the story ends. And that's if
they can find one to read! My library doesn't even
have a copy, and every one I have seen on Ebay the
last couple months has been $100 or more.
As long as this one is using the original films, and
the addition looks good, I don't think they're messing
with anything.
And with DMCH selling the updated ones for just $40,
I'll probably buy one to GIVE to my local library. Hey
James, how about a discount if I buy two - one for my
public library and one for me?

Actually what you're seeing is the ignition at work. Whenever the coil
loses its ground (controlled by ignition module), high tension current
builds up lightning fast, then is discharged to a spark plug as rotor
passes its terminal. If the coil were grounded all the time, no
current would ever build up.
Ignition module and tachometer take their signal from small wire
(blue? I'm at work and can't remember color) that passes from
distributor to compartment behind driver seat.
Take it easy grabbing ignition wires. While coil ground is only 12
volts, HT wires can be as much as 100,000 on newer cars. Even stock
DeLo is 18,000 or so (which I highly recommend bumping up at least to
40,000).
