I have a DeLorean in my posession that I got from a friend of mine, and I am looking to find out just what a DeLorean in it's condition would be considered worth (average) so as to strike a deal with the owner. I'm having a hard time deciphering the wide array of prices that people seem to charge for used DeLoreans. The DeLorean that I have is a 1981, no gas flap, all original. Nothing has been updated, nothing has been replaced, and for the last 10 years, it has not even been cranked over (until recently when we were giving it a few tests). It does not run, and undoubtedly will need some overhauling on the fuel system side of things just to get it running. I am aware that there are a number of other updates that need to be performed on an original to get it safe for driving. The headliner is sagging completely, the interior however is uncracked black leather (surprisingly). All struts are completely shot. The engine does turn over just fine, but does not start of course. It was parked with a full tank of gas for 10 years, so you know how it goes. The exterior was extremely covered in mudd and every other kind of dirt it could have for being stored for so long. For 5 of the 10 years, it was only in a canopy, somewhat exposed to the elements but still under a roof. It cleaned up well and looks good when it's clean from the outside, no visible dents or cracks. So what do you think? If theres any other information you'd need to asses it's value, I'd like to hear from you. Thanks for any help.
