[doc] Eurofest -Thank-You!

All,

There are tons of posts on the subject, and I haven't read them all, but
just to add my profuse thanks to the organisers for arranging such a
brilliant event to commemorate our cars' 25th Anniversary. I, and I am sure
do the others, have so many wonderful memories it seems incredible that they
were all squeezing into a few days! From the emormous events - 75+ cars
pulled up in a line along the hard shoulder, Hillsborough Castle, the
Autotest, and of course the unforgettable and let me add quite poignant
factory/ test-track visit - to the smaller ones.

These included a personal Police escort to the M2 from the Europa when Rich
Hutchisnon and I turned up a bit late, to a middle-aged chap pulling up
alongside at the traffic lights, beeping and waving furiously, shouting "I
built that car, I built that car!!".

Wonderful. We are all used to the crowds that our cars can pull, but never
have these been as great or as freindly as in NI over the last weekend.
Everyone seemed genuinely interested, and in some instances almost overcome
that we had all made the effort to travel to be there.

Thanks go to all the members of all the Clubs in attendence, and especially
to the DOI who put such a lot of time and effort into the organisation -
including a bit of hardcore gardening to remove the braches from the track,
no doubt!

It was great to catch up with people I had met before and to make new
freinds, and I am now fully reassured that I will NEVER be selling RHL509X!
(Not that I had been planning to!)

PS - And I'm sure Hutchinson wiould have done the same for me - his
compressor certainly bailed me out when I had a flat on the way to the
Giants Causeway - a problem ably solved by a local chap whose name I never
got, who pulled up to observe the spectacle and ended up driving me to a
tyre repair shop he knew who was open on a Sunday! Now where else in the
world, or with what other car, would that ever happen?

Rich Hanlon

Now fully convinced to kep my stock front springs!
