Subject: Swapped bits

Hi Mark, you must think I'm a right plonker, right? I didn't even notice my immaculate, grey seats had been swapped in my BTTF car.

Well, I just unwrapped the engine cover and louvers that you removed and very nicely wrapped up for me a couple of years ago, when did all that work for me on my 110 mile, never been out in the rain, ex museum 1983 car. And guess what? They look worse than the one's I've just removed from "Herman", who had been sitting in a Louisiana orchard for 15 years and had 45,000 miles on the clock!

My trouble is Mark, I trust folk. I expect them to behave in an honourable, honest way. When I young, no matter how poor we were, me and my friends had a little motto, "never rob your mates". Obviously some Londoners don't follow this code.

Last night I discussed my little discovery with Dave Howarth and he was not in the least surprised. He told my of the problems he had with you when he lent you "PSO".you know, the swapped sun visors, spare wheel and jack etc. I believe Spratty was a witness to that little episode.

Dave also tells me of the plans you had to swap bits off Dave Rogers/ Robert Lamrock's car. Before he bought it when you had it in your possession. Also how Robert was due to pay for the re-brushing of DMC 1J as well as his own!

Helpfully Dave Howarth has a full set of detailed photo's of DMC 1J , when still at Dave Rogers, before you ever saw it. They show the slightly warn seats, engine cover etc. And Guess what? I have ended up with all that little lot on my former immaculate, 1983 car!

I know you swapped the engine cover and louvers when you had it originally, I suspect the seats went later, when I lent it to you for the show, but my full photo and video record of the car will reveal the exact dates. To be honest (forgive the pun) I can't be bothered to assemble all this evidence yet. But I tell you what Mark, I will do. And unless you sort this problem out within the next 2 weeks, it will make an entertaining, if slightly unbelievable 3 page special in the next club mag.

If you fail to respond to this email, by the end of today, I will post a copy to your dad's house.

I need a plan of action before the weekend and the swapped items replacing within the next 2 weeks, before Buck House, or I go public. Simple as that. Don't waste my time with bullshit excuses. Just fix a date to drive up here with my bits.

Chris

Unbelievable, what on earth has come over you! After speaking with all concerned parties (below), they find these accusations outrageous. As a servicing Police Officer, I am fully aware of the implications relating to theft. If you wish to pursue this, I have no option other than all future correspondence to be in writing for the attention of my solicitor.

If you check with Dave Howarth, I picked up his car (PSO) in Nov 1999, yes I did replace the sun visors with ones he supplied because the old ones has split due to sun damage. The olds ones were far beyond repair and thrown away The spare wheel, jack and number plates were removed, passed to Chris Spratt, to take back to Dave as the vehicle was going to spend 8 months at Beulieu Museum. Dave didn't want them to go missing and that the spare wheel and jack had belonged to one of his other cars.

With regard to having my car rebrushed by Chris Nicholson, speak to Chris yourself. The agreement was a rebrush in exchange for two slightly damaged rear wings and roof T panel, which I had left over from the repairs to my 1st car DGS 803X. This was done many weeks prior to picking up Robert Lamrock's car from Dave Rogers.

By all means check the photos you have of my car. Check the drivers seat as it has a bad wear scuff mark, were Dave Rogers's large wallet that he had in his back pocket with chain used to rub. It is still on my car and I doubt very much it shows on yours. The louvers & engine cover on my car I had painted satin black in summer 2001 and new stickers replaced, courtesy DMC Houston.

To save you the embarrassment of abusing your position, yet again in the club (you know what I mean), by threatening to do an "unbelievable 3 page special in the next club mag", I have now forwarded it on the DOC forum as I have nothing to hide. If anything is published in the next magazine, I have no option but to forward proceedings of slander and deformation of character.

All I can say don't judge others by your own standards. I'm sure of all the proud owners that have purchased Deloreans from you, would be very interested on what mark up you had put on and what parts you have swapped. Dave Howarth & myself have been quite open into the purchase price of our 3 RHD Deloreans at £15,000 each.

I feel it is now time you resigned as Club Secretary.

I will not be replying to any further e-mails

Mark

PS please don't tell my Dad.
