5. Blowing exhaust manifold gaskets
6. The whining from a broken automatic transmission
7. Original rear speakers on a car that's sat in the sun for 20 years (mine)
8. The crunch of a gearchange on a hot day when you still have a plastic 
clutch line

I'll probably come up with some more with a bit more thought! 
(deliberately ignoring things that can happen on any cars - eg wheel 
bearings, clutch release bearings etc)
