RE: [doc] New Car tax bands - are we affected?

Don't panic, our tax has only gone up £5 per year, the CO2 system does not
apply to older cars, from the DVLA website...

http://www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/Changes_to_cost_of_vehicle_tax.htm

Vehicles with an engine capacity of 1549 or above (registered before the 1st
March 2001) which fall into the Private Light Goods tax class will have
their annual rate of duty increased by £5.00 to £175.00

Well , thanks to our honourable friend the MP for Dunfermline, Mr Brown, wen
ow have a new series of car tax (VED) bands based on emissions of CO2
(grams per kilometre).

1. Do we have a CO2 g/km figure for the Delorean?
2. What category does this put us in to?
3. How do we prove this figure- DMC certainly won't be on the drop-down
lists they'll have access to in the Post Office?
4. Who can we complain to when we automatically get bumped up by a category

(if we aren't in the top category anyway?)

This gives a basic list:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4834480.stm

I expect it'll be £210. WHich is a stinger as I have the MOT on Friday,h
opefully foloweed on Sat by a new tax disc!

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
