Yep, I second that. I sometimes get a "Twang" coming from one of the front springs expecially
when making a full lock turn whilst going over a bumpy surface "ie.off a kerb".
I suppose it could sound like a cable twanging.

  Have you had the front end jacked up for a while with the front 
  wheels hanging down ?...

  Maybe it was one of the suspension springs reseating itself, they 
  can make a rather discerning noise when they do it :)
