[doc] radiator fans circuit

hi all,ok iv been working on my car, want to get it on the road in
the next month or so{had it over 2 years and havnt used it yet}iv
just got the engine running perfectly apart from one problem but il
post a seperate question for that one,
anyway this problem{or is it} i had that little silver box
goe faulty in the relay place, that makes my fans turn off when they
shouldnt,{took it apart and when it gets hot it breaks the circuit
to the fans,{its supposed too but not as soon as it does,so i bent
the flat brassy thing thats desighned to bend when hot and the fans
stay on longer now althoe still not perfect so i need to order a new
one}
its a Canadian car and when the temp gauge gets to above
the quater mark{i think 30} the fans cut in for about 30 secs it
does this on and off until the temp at one time went to 100 just
below the red then i shut it down having noticed this.
after temporarily bodging the silver box that caused this
i found a switch under my dash,it manualy controls the radiator,i
can switch them on even when the engine is stone cold, its not a
factory job,
my question is WHY does the delorean have this silver box
thats caused my problem, the last car i built had 2 radiator fans
connected to a battery with a thermastat in the middle so when the
engine got hot they turned on and when the engine cooled they turned
off,
