Re: [doc] Help needed please

Cheers for the info Steve. Just been out and done it. It took about ten minutes to get the roof off and another ten to remove the access plate. Thanks very much for your advise mate

  Hi Tracy

i may not be quite so easy.
i replaced my door struts and then the door rubbed the T panel (even
though it lined ok)

so i removed the screws under the door seals, bent the tabs bach
carefully at the rear and thought great, the panel should ease
off.....wrong i was.

i have tried and tried to ease the panel, slid spatula type things
under and still can't get the stick pad to break the bond.
you can try pulling but have to be really carefull not to bend the T
panel as even a slight kink will be difficult to get out.

i abandoned the idea eventually but as mine is an ongoing resto have
left the tabs and screws out. the door only catches very slightly
but Dave at DMUK said this was common on an earlier vin (mines 1621)

in addition the pad needs to be the correct thickness when replacing
for alignment. Hope you have better luck than mine.

i also tried heating the panel and under with a hairdrier.

Regards

Steve
