[doc] RE: Time Circuits on eBay

Yes, the Time Circuits are mine. The car is Mark Bourne's. Picture was taken in a restaurant car park.

They are an expensive item but also cost a lot to produce. There are the components; 39 16-segment displays, display drivers, custom-programmed microcontroller, three custom-made circuit boards, keypad, illuminated switches. Then there is the assembly cost. Then there is the cost for making the aluminium chassis/box. I pay an electronics company to assemble and test. I also had to pay a programmer to write the microcontroller code.

I reckon that each unit costs me about £500 to make not including my own time, so I start off £5000 in the hole to make 10. So far I've sold 4 and the low dollar doesn't help. Lucky I have a proper job as I won't be retiring anytime soon! The biggest kick I get from it is seeing my stuff in other people's BTTF conversions.
