[doc] Re: New info about my car!

Hiya Thomas,

It's good fun learning about your car's history isn't it! :o)

The guy I bought Flopsy from in California was a great source of
information, plus I learnt quite alot by getting a Carfax Report (US
version of HPI).  Unfortunately, Robert (who owned Flopsy) lost alot
of DeLorean memorabilia in a fire a few years back, but he did send me
a load of DeLorean One and DMC Texas (pre DMCH days?) invoices plus a
1994 DeLorean One catalogue and a copy of  Motor Trend Magazine from
1981 with a lengthy road test of the DeLorean (featuring Pilot 25).
I'm sure I scanned it and sent it to Alistair if you want to have a
read.

Robert also emailed me a photo of Flopsy facing the wrong way on a
snow covered freeway in the Appalachian Mountains, after he lost
control of her when he moved from Virginia to California in 1997.
Change of underwear moment there me thinks!! :o)

Robert's a really nice guy actually, he had Flopsy about twelve years,
and has told all his friends about these mad people in England who've
been restoring his car! ha :o)

owned my car in the states. The daughter of the guy that owned it has
been telling me a few interesting stories. She told me my car had
actually been broken into before, and they tried to steal the radio,
in doing so they ripped apart a lot of the interior, which explains
why mine is crap! Now I know why my new gear surround (metal part with
clock) does not fit, and why the a/c panel has been glued back
together! Also explains the poorly retrimmed centre console. She did
say that her father loved the car and he pampered it. Unfortunately
whoever bought it in 1997 after he died didn't treat it with the same
respect.
