[doc] re plunger in distributor

Hi all

does anyone know, does the plunger in the distributer drop down onto
the pivot arm on by gravity or by fuel pressure?

i have soaked mine in acetone, reassembled but when a move the air
intake plate i can hear/feel the pivot touching the plunger ie it is
not dropping down fully.

does it need fuel to lubricate as it is a very tight machined fit.

i did not touch the sides of it, just the tip as the groove in it is
only .2mm? can just about see it.

i am about to re-assemble on the car but would be nice to know if it
will function.

thanx for any help

regards

Steve
