RE: [doc] New Beetle

Yes they are based on a golf - anyway my beetle has its engine in the "correct" end!
aparently they're "a tad expensive for what they are if you buy a fairly new one!" - well thats what the chairman of the local VW owners club has said about them before.

Blimey, I didn't know Wayside had gone!  Their sites in Stevenage and St
Albans are still there tho - afaik anyway.

I really wanted a new Beetle when they first came out, apparently they are
based on a Golf, but the body is heavier, so don't obviously don't expect
the driving characteristics of a Golf.  I'd still like one and early ones
are quite cheap to buy now.  Avoid the 1.6; go for the 2.0 115bhp or the 1.9
turbo diesel.  I think there was also the 2.3V5 engined one too.  I've
settled for a 1:18 scale in Yellow as I can't afford the real thing!  ;o)
