[doc] Eurofest 2006 on the cheap!

I'm sure Martin will not be in the least bit surprised, but I have
come up with a plan for reducing the cost of attending Eurofest, using
Tesco clubcard points.

This will definitely work on the ferry crossing, it may work on the
hotel, depends if the hotel will allow the vouchers to be used when
the event is on, also depends on what discount the organisers have
negotiated with the hotel, as to whether it's worth it.

So concentrating on the ferry...
The brochure price of the ferry (not yet published for next year)I
expect to be about £200. You will therefore need £50 of clubcard
vouchers to get a crossing (they are worth 4* face value when used
like this)

I use a Tesco credit card, which means I earn quite a lot of points
already, but there are ways to get extra points, eg at the moment if
on their website you bought £100 of wine, £3.74 of books, £80 on
groceries, and £30 on flowers. Total cost about £215.

You could earn enough points to get you a free crossing with that lot.

Or get free points for recyling...

Working mobile phones can be exchanged for £3 of vouchers (max 5
phones per year(to January)

Dead mobile phones get you 50p

Empty HP, Lexmark or Canon inkjet cartridges also worth 50p each...

So 100 empty inkjet cartridges = a free ferry.

Have a look at the forum at
http://tescoclubcard.6.forumer.com/index.php
for all the codes, and more extra points offers

Also on Tesco's website sign up to all their extra clubs, wine club,
healthy living club etc. you'll get more extra points offer vouchers
etc. in the post.

You'll need to earn all your points by January so you'll get them in
February in time to spend on the ferry.

Hope this mammoth post helps someone.
