[doc] Back from France! 2770 miles later.

Dear all,

Well, just back from my holidays, and have been interested to read
especially about the Le Mans trip.  I arrived home this morning (at 6am)
from a mammoth 2770 mile trip in VIN#6126 to the south of France. (Nearly a
tenth of it's total mileage ever, in a fortnight!)

Week one in the Pyrenees - that was a trip - Derby to Aspet was 864 miles in
22 hours!  Great time on the mountain roads, and headed into Spain for the
day.  Week two started by a 370 mile drive to the Cote d'Azur (St Tropez and
all that), and featured a spin through the port at St. Tropez and a spin
through Monte Carlo.

I have to say, the car behaved flawlessly all the way, with the air-con on
full whack and in temperatures of up to 36C.  The only maintenence required
was a new bonnet release cable (coincidece eh - that was the first post I
read when I got back).  This was achieved using a bike gear/ brake cable for
54 Euro-cents.  Thanks to E. Leclerc!

And two tyre-valve dust-caps got nicked.

This wasn't my first long trip either - a 750 mile trip to Ireland last
month proved a good shake-down for the continental run.

A good wash, and she'll be good as new - in fact I've used the car to get to
work today.  I have a fair collection of creatures on the front.  In fact I
managed to get a complete grasshopper wedged in the wipers on the way down!

Good luck all, and happy motoring.  Hope your experiences are all as
enjoyable as mine have been.  Especially after the last-minute angle-drive
panic before I left!  Thanks to all for their help!
