Have a word with your good lady and borrow her nail varnish remover.
It's got acetone in it and will shift pretty much anything.  I find it
useful for removing the residue left on your skin by plasters too!

Anyone else need a "top tip of the day"?   ;o)

speaking of velcro, does anybody know what I can use to remove the
horrible sticky mess that velcro leaves behind after you peel it off?
I have a big gooey mess on my dash now where a piece of velcro used to
be...
