The story goes as I know it about the six cars N I C held at their depot on the grosvenor road.
Two Transporters left Dunmurry for the docks that afternoon as they past their yard on the the way to the docks they were waved down and told to drive into the yard.the manager of the dmc docks Billy mc callan phone my foreman Dennis Boyle a number of times  to find out what happen to the transporters as they had not arrived at the docks.
After a few weeks n i c let go a transporter to the docks after a court case but held on to the other one which had six cars on. I think that's the way it went, but my memory is not as good now after 20 odd years.

  It was Robert who gave me the info about my car also.

  It was sold at the factory auction, where ever that was held and was the 
  last car sold (from the factory)

  The last six cars that were built were sold at this auction as the auction 
  at the docks had the last registered shipment for america and as the 
  shippers had not been paid they took the cars and locked them at their yard 
  in Belfast docks.

  Now this is all I know about my car but I could be wrong about the auction 
  parts but my car was one of the last six for sure.

  Also, these cars were not built but re-built with new parts as they were all 
  ex demo cars that had been lying around the factory and were freshened up to 
  make abit more money.  Thats why my car has a grey interior and black 
  dashboard when it should all be black.  The Ex Director of DMC that Chris 
  and I spoke to at the NEC last year was able to tell us that the last six 
  were all the ex demo cars and parts cars.
