Re: [doc] Air con info

R134a is standard in modern cars, and we're not allowed to use R12 any more. However, there are several "drop in replacements" available. I have R413 and others have RS24. Don't go through the hassle of converting to R134a - our friends across the pond do because they can't get drop in replacements, and R12 is still legal, but bloomin expensive

Hi all,

I know we've gone through this already this summer but I've lost all the info I'd saved from the list! Could someone remind me what the re-gassing situation is with our air con units. As far as I can remember, the system can be tested and regassed with a different gas (R134?), but there is no change required on the actual compressor unit or the system. Is this correct?!
