Our family car is a Y-reg Renault Espace which boasts the 3 litre 24V V6 engine. Although it's bolted to an auto box in our Espace, it's still a VERY nice engine with PLENTY of grunt (not sure what the BHP rating is offhand). You could always go down to your local Renault dealership and ask for a test drive in a 3.0 V6 Espace to see what you think. This would give you an idea of what can be done with (what is essentially) still the PRV engine.
