To check the fuel system pull all 6 injectors and
put them into jars, remove the airbox then run the fuel pump by removing the RPM
relay (black or green relay at the back of the relay compartment) and connecting
the Brown and pink/white wires (nos 30 and 87) using a paper clip. You should
hear the fuel pump running. The system has approx 29 gallens per hour running
round the system, back to the tank. Push down on the air flow sensor (round
silver disk under the air box). The injectors should be dry then as soon asyou
push down on the sensor equal amounts of fuel should spray in a cone shape from
each injector at the same time. The sensor should not bind and be smooth all the
way down to the bottom.

It would also be wise to check the cold start valve
works by connecting a multimeter to the blue connector on the left hand side of
the engine, remove the RPM relay and pull the HT lead from the coil. Then run
the starter motor. There should be voltage for a maximum of 10 seconds. The
voltage for the cold start comes directly from the starter motor via the Thermo
time switch (just above the water pump. If there is no voltage or it does not
stop after 10 secs then the themo time switch is most likely bad.

If you have fuel and spark then check the idle
speed system has no major leaks and is working OK.

Attached file downloaded from 'Duke's Delorean Page' may give
you some ideas on where to look for problems. I have found  that if
you have spark, and a check on the fuel pump shows that is running, itis
worth checking earth leads in the engine compartment. There are a couple
connected to the back of the air inlet manifold and you may find a bad
connection or broken wire. Even if a test shows that the fuel pump is
functioning electrically, you will have to check whether it is delivering
fuel. Not easy to do safely with a high pressure system. Good
luck Graham (Norfolk)(102) ----- Original Message ----- From:
