The Other "yellow car" previously mentioned, also belongs to a club
member, Nick , "up North".

He also adds some more details about "Men and Motors"

It strikes me that some of you "boys" have too many toys!

BTW there was a proper ex US Army  Hummer at "Hullywood". Very nicely
restored too..7 foot 2 inches wide!

Best regards

Hi Chris,

Yes my car!  Lamborghini Diablo SV picture attached.  The SV is the
racing version of the Diablo and is capable of 217mph, (only managed
202mph to date) considerably faster than the other Diablo's.  In my
collection I also have two Ferraris and a Hummer H2.

The programme is on Men & Motors at 5.00 on Saturday.

Regards,

Nik

Thanks for the other matter Nick...was the other "yellow car" anything
to do with you?  If so, some details would be nice.

Best regards

James,
We concluded pretty early on that you either do it to enjoy it, or
to win. Not both. We had a good time, swapped over drivers several
times and had a good play with other cars en route. In the end we
came 26th out of the 90+ cars. The guys who won (in a Porsche) came
in 2.25 hours ahead of us on what was for us about a 7 hour run from
Paris to Monaco (ie they SHIFTED it). Apparently they were scoping
out the route the week before. We also had a not so delightful 45
minute wait with the Police at Lyon :-(, and missed the final turn
to Monaco causing a 15 minute detour. Our fault, we had the windows
down and were enjoying the noise of the tunels so much we didn;t
hear the Sat Nav saying LEFT, LEFT you idiots :-)
We have some very shaky video of a lovely straight stretch in Italy
where we had 200mph on the speedo (twice). Real spine tingling
stuff !
On the way back I got radar'd in France, spent an hour or so at the
Police station, and got banned (from driving in France) for 15 days.
As it happens we were 50 miles away from Calais and so my co driver
just finished off the leg. Once back in the UK I drove again.
I'm still editing down my 8+ hours of combined footage into a DVD,
it may be a while but I'll happily circulate a copy if you're
interested when done.
For any law enforcement agencies reading this. I'm lying :-)
As for the other Yellow Diablo, Yes as `Lord` was featured quite a
lot (with pre-race footage etc). I think they didn't show much of my
car in action so as not to confuse the viewers, shame, although at
least I seem to have avoided looking a total pratt, which was my
worst fear having asked all my friends to watch it.....
Regards, (still smiliing while I write it).
Nigel
