Check for any vacuum leaks anywhere after the air venturi, pull off the idle speed motor ( black or gold tube fixed to the left of the inlet manifold ) and check you can move the  arm inside. If the car is running at 2.5K RPM then it could be a problem with the idle speed sensor in the Y coolant pipe. Its also not uncommon for the ECU's to go bad. The ecu is located behind the drivers seat, its the black box on top. They can be repaired.
