K-Jet is a system that works. There is no inherent flaws in the design that will prevent it from working properly. Yes, it is more complex than a carburetor, but if this unknown person has already spent $4K trying to get it working, then it would be a reasonable expectation that he/she should seek out some better help/advice on K-Jet instead of Steve taking advantage of a frustrated owner to indoctrinate another owner in to "dumbing down" their car.
The discussion that started this topic, finding a local mechanic to work on K-Jet, was a good example of perpetuating mis-information about support for K-Jet. There was one HUGE source of help that no one mentioned, that is your local club.
For people in the region of DeLorean Mid-Atlantic, we have a number of members who are experienced with K-Jet (and other DeLorean systems), and are always willing to go out and help a fellow owner work on their car. I assume other regional clubs have similar resources.
