[DML] Inadequate Lotus Engineering

The upgraded front suspension thread seems to have laid bare a fundamental misconception within this community: that Lotus poured its best engineering efforts into the DMC-12. Nothing could be further from the truth. In the BBC Car Crash documentary, Lotus' own chief engineer admits that they really only worked on the car when DMC personnel visited, wheeling the DeLorean mules back out as soon as they left. Mike Loasby repeatedly objected to many engineering aspects of the Lotus design, front suspension among them. To be brutally honest, the DMC-12 is an automotive equivalent of a school paper written the night before it is due.
