Can we consider the the Byrne/Uding combo vetted then? I've logged nearly 600 miles thus far with excellent results.
I do think that butting Ed's outriggers against hardened washers is better than the shock towers. It minimizes the amount of rotating contact area, yet still gives you a full size area for the outrigger to press against. Polyurethane bushings are also very squeaky -- by rotating metal on metal, rather than bushing on metal, squeak is removed.
The LCA end does not rotate against the LCA of course, so that isn't a concern (I slipped a fender washer in there anyway to keep the bushing from digging into my paint job).
