Hi Josh-
My recollection from, say, 8 years ago is that to be a D.O.A. board  member 
you had to commit to attend a monthly board meeting... in the L.A.  area. 
Of course, if you were wealthy, you could fly in each month, but that  was 
essentially tantamount to a requirement for L.A. county residency.
