Another tip when tracking down electrical shorts is to connect a 12 volt light bulb across the fuse box terminals. (With the fuse removed.) It will glow brightly when there is a short and will limit the current through the circuit. When you finally find and fix the short the bulb will glow dimmer or not at all. Saves on blown fuses while you do your testing.
