I dont' know which one is right but I do remember a story of a list member (or someone they knew) putting the transmission together by looking at the mirror image.  He ended up with one speed forward and five speeds reverse!

The illustration of the DeLorean manual transmission on p. 5 of the Technical Information Manual is the same as the one on p. F:01:01 of the Workshop Manual except in one "tiny" detail- the image is a mirror image; in other words, reversed. Not handy to crawl under my 5 speed tonight for a look, so which is the correct image? I'm guessing the Workshop Manual since it was written later.
