Try disconnecting the plug off the warm up regulator and plugging it
onto the cold start valve, see if the car starts first time - if so then
the cold start sensor you ordered may do the trick. If not, look for
vacuum leaks. That's just a starting pont - there is lots it could be
but those are quick things to check and very common.

Subject: [DML] In need of opinions
After returning from a 6 week trip I started my D after about 6 or 7
attempts. For the past year or so the D would have cold start issues so
I ordered the Cold Start switch and it hasn't arrived yet. My dilemma
stems from when I stupidly shut the car off at a very long light and
when I went to start it the car wouldn't crank but the a/c fan, radio
etc worked. After pushing the car to the side I tightened the battery
posts but they were tight to begin with. I tried starting the car and
she started right up which leads me to my question. Could this be
symptoms of a starter on its way out? (Has original starter and car has
14000 original miles) Could there be a short in the battery or a problem
with the positive terminal that I disconnect from time to time at car
shows? This has only happened once but it's enough to cause concern. Is
there anything else that I should be looking for?? Any suggestions are
appreciated. Demetri
