Harold,
I have a lockzilla which appears to draw about .01 amps or slightly less.
That and the JL Audio amp are pulling about 0.05 amps total. According to
an earlier posting, that's plenty to draw down a battery after a week. I
don't remember it being like this a couple years ago though so perhaps my
battery is not very good either.
What is the current recommended battery? Mine is from NAPA. It's the
right size, not the smaller one like Dave Swingle mentioned he had seen people
mistakenly install a few weeks ago.
I will drive the car for a while tomorrow and charge the battery up well,
then disconnect the amp and let it sit for a couple weeks. If the battery
is still strong then I will know I need to do something about this amp
either with a relay or switch or something. Since I didn't have this much
trouble a couple years ago, I'm thinking the battery might be somewhat bad too.

The newer technology these days does not create a big draw on batteries -
However, if you have an original door lock module you have a big drain.
Alone it will drain a battery in a week to 10 days. There is a fix which many
people have done that reduces the drain by some 95%. It is in the files
section somewhere. Of course the newer ones sold by DMCH have the newer
technology that has minimal drain too.
I have an alarm, a big amp, and a fixed door lock module. I have armed the
car for a week without issues.
