I see, so both sides affect the hub's seating? I have the larger outer
bolt on my car, 36mm I think, and I must have known this because I
actually have such a socket in my tool box. So I was OK there, just
didn't have a large enough wrench for the inside bolt. Can anybody
confirm it's 1-1/4 or 32 mm? before I buy one to try it?
Although, that may be a moot issue for now, since the inner / angle
drive nut is pretty much seized in place. The shop I was at for
yesterday's tech day did not have a large enough wrench, and channel
locks that would fit didn't cut it, and would just tear up the nut if we
continued. I'll need a torch and a proper wrench for sure.
Looks like the P.O. tried, too, because I still have the dust shield on
the angle drive, and when I removed it, I saw that the drive had been
drilled open and had the back SILICONED in place again. I'm surprised
it ran as long as it did. Was hoping I could do it on my own, but as
usual, there's just one little thing that's a b**-otch that needs me to
take it into a shop to get done. Oh well, once I get the inside bolt
off, the job looks pretty straight -forward.
Thanks for the tips, guys...
