Ummm, no, Claude.  If that were the case, then that means that all 10 or so of Tony Swann's cars are VIN 501 also?  My VIN 1063 was built the same month as 502 according to the tag.  Maybe it's a special pre-production car?!!  
 
Anyone want to buy it for an insanely high price?

I always HIGHLY suspected vin 570(my old Delorean) was 501 badged as 
570...since it had everything JUST as 502(the twin turbo) minus of 
course the twin turbo's,it had the same vin plate style SAME WHITE 
engine cover,(the only TWO cars that I know that had those)exact same 
interior, the SAME EXACT frame with certain riveted items on the 
frame,same "rough" black body, basically 100% twins in every 
way.Again Minus the twin turbo stuff)
