I agree automatics are not supposed to start in any position other
than Neutral or Park. For anyone installing a remote starter it is
very important to verify that function. Some remote starters also have
a switch that is used to make sure the motor won't start unless the
car is in Park and not neutral. All safety functions should be tested.
