And I'll throw in a plug here - I have two cars now with metal coolant bottles (one stainless and one aluminum)- both now with John Herveys site glass for monitoring the level. It works GREAT. Until Scotty shows up with some of that transparent aluminum - its the way to go

Jeez!
Sorry to hear you have been having so much trouble. I'm the third
owner of mine, and have owned it for over three years with no
problems whatsoever (knock on wood). There are owners that have had
varied problems but correct them, and go on.
An important thing to keep in mind is that the auto's are over 25 yrs
old, were only produced a couple of years and all the bugs had not
been discovered and corrected as regular production cars.
If I may suggest, I would have a reputable shop (such as PJ Grady in
NJ) take a good look at your car and make some recommendations.
I also noticed in the picture that you may be needing some of the
recall, and or recommended items installed (steel coolant bottle vs
plastic, De-Ice kit with slash shield, etc)
Don't get too discouraged, these things happen. IMHO, the good times
more than make up for the occasional grief.
John
