Yes, Be careful on how tight you tighten the collars. It will lower the cars
to a certain point until the car is more being supported by the shock
instead the spring. 
The shock is to dampen the spring and the lower the car is weighted into the
shock it almost turns around.

  Got the rear shocks on okay. Thanks. Couple of questions. What happens if
I move the spring seats down on the shock a bit? Does it change ride height
or just the spring stiffness? On the front shocks, the replacements didn't
have the long through/spacer tube for the lower mount. Should I shim these
with washers or just let the shock ride on the bolt without being held
firmly in the middle (I've got them on this way and am suspecting some of my
front-end noise to be from the shocks moving.

don't have to much further to expand once you get everything loosened up. Or
you can put the straps on the springs, one on each side and tighten up a
little till the bolt on the bottom as no tension against it. Make sure the
straps are equally spaced and tightened up equally also.
