[DML] Re: door struts

Garrar - there are a lot of theories going around the web about those
struts and torsion bars.

The best I've ever read was from Ed Bernstein when he wrote, that
the bars were adjusted perfectly when the car was built and they are 
not meant to compensate for weak gas struts.
without the struts the door should be lifted around 2-4" from the door 
sills. the doors should open perfectly around 15...20°C, but they 
should not sag. Maybe the doors won't open completely, you may have to 
push them open, but they should stay there !

often the gas struts are too strong, maybe a previous owner compensated
that by reducing the force of the torsion bars ?
