Generally this is caused by either a lack of lubrication of the cables
or one of the cables has a "set" to it. Pull the inner cables out and
they should lay in a large circle with no bends or kinks. Do it on
newspaper to keep them clean. If the are OK, lube them up and put them
back in and see if it helped. Use "Speedometer Cable Lubricant". A
large auto store should have it. Make sure the lower cable support is
on the car and not bent or broken too. While you are working on the
speedometer lube the angle drive and check the hole in the plastic
drive disc. It has to be square, not round.
