I wouldn't recommend any sort of resistance heat. You're going to need
everything those batteries can give you for distance propulsion. Same
with the A/C compressor -- electrically driven compressors suck up a
lot of juice (think summertime electric bills). 

You may need to simply vent outside air and hope for the best.
