I'll ask the owner who has worked with the racks for years to see if he has
any ideas on a conversion or maybe he could make a suggestion. He naturally
works with them all the time.
What I first thought I would do is offer my services and photograph one if
you had one in mind since I go there about twice a month. 
With the help of another member of the group I had my machine shop make the
plastic bushing that comes apart on the passenger side remade in oil tight
brass and I now install them on my rebuilt racks.
