It has been my experience that rental companies are more interested in
the hitch set up rather than what you are hauling. I would strongly suggest
renting an Aluminum car trailer as they are much lighter than the normal steel
ones. The lighter the load the easier the tow. A Tow Dolly would work
well, but you will expose the D to road salt, etc.
The most important factor is good brakes, etc.
