[DML] Trailing arm shield bracket kit?

Hi, This may sound like a stupid question, but I was
looking at the trailing arm shield bracket kit here:

And can't figure out what the heck it is and where on
the Delorean it is located!! ;)

Looks and sounds like a good product, but what the
heck does it do?  And, does anyone have it installed?
